THE STORY SO FAR...

Karin Taylor's first interest in photography came from watching her Grandfather and his prolific picture taking. As he was never without a camera she was soon inspired to pick one up herself.  This progressed to loading film under a blanket then taping herself into the bathroom to develop it and so the interest developed into a career.

After A levels came a degree at Blackpool & the Fylde College and a love of working in the studio, controlling light and objects to create still life. A simple, graphic style was honed which together with a love of detail led to several competition wins including both Elle Magazine and the Association of Photographers Student awards.

After college, a year assisting in Manchester was followed by a move to London, more assisting and more awards, this time a merit in the Association of Photographers Assistant awards.

In 1998 Karin started working for her own clients and now has a broad range from Editorial magazines to Advertising and Corporate. She now specialises in beautiful graphic still life from her East London studio and continues to show work in exhibitions as well as the AOP photographers awards.  Work includes food and drinks photography, watches, clothing, accessories, moving image as well as personal art projects.

Although the nature of photography may have changed that doesn't mean the principals have, there will always be a place for beautiful, high quality work and a photographer who can problem solve quickly and under pressure...and have fun...
